Tirebuck Helps Local School ‘Play Smart'

Tirebuck Career Solutions, winner of the Solihull Times Best Business Award 2007, based on Knowle High Street, has sponsored a new football kit for the under 15 girl’s team at St Peter’s Roman Catholic School in Solihull.St Peters Football Team

Beckie Watson, Head of Year 11 and a PE teacher at St Peter’s, commented:

“I am absolutely delighted with the efforts of the school council to raise money for our new kit (shorts, shirts and socks), 85% of which was donated by Tirebuck Career Solutions.  People used to think our kit was a bit tatty and needed a makeover to help our kids represent the school better.

“Our new motto is: ‘You look smart and you play smart’ and this has certainly proved to be the case.  We went off to play a football tournament in our new kit last weekend and won!  We obviously have no excuses now.  Our kit will be used for all our league and cup fixtures, seven-a-side competitions in the Solihull league and the English Schools’ Football Association 11-a-side cup.  We can’t wait to take on the competition.”

Karen Tirebuck, Managing Director of Tirebuck, said:

“I enjoy supporting local schools and charities and we take an active interest in our community.  I am delighted the new kit has raised the confidence of the team.  It’s great to think that we have made a small contribution to their success on the pitch by helping them to ‘play smart’.

“We plan to continue our close links with schools and, through Education Business Link, already send consultants to offer advice on the many career opportunities available to them after education.  We are always pleased to give guidance where we can.”
