Graduate Recruitment
Competition for the most talented graduates can be fierce, and it is often the large corporates and household names that dominate the process.
However, we know that graduates applying to forward-thinking SMEs gain real responsibility, direct and quick exposure to customers and senior management, and have the prospect of becoming a key part of their business.
This is why we aim to offer a tailor-made, structured and challenging graduate recruitment selection process. Our consultants can arrange a thorough selection process to match the needs of your business and we are well-placed to help recruit the best graduates for you.
An Example of Our Graduate Selection Process
A Face to Face Meeting
First we will meet with you face to face to understand fully your requirements, including the numbers of graduates required and which departments they may suit.
Advertising
This is followed by organising advertising and PR in order for you to make the most of this opportunity. Graduate CVs from applicants will then be reviewed to select individuals for telephone screening.
Telephone Screening
Graduates will be initially telephone-screened by our consultants. They will be asked to complete a full registration form and participate in a series of extensive IT assessments.
In-depth Interview
A short list of graduates will then be invited to meet our consultants face-to-face for an in-depth interview designed to assess certain core competencies, agreed with you in advance, and the skills required to be a successful graduate in your company.
Company Presentation
This is followed by graduates witnessing, first hand, a presentation from your company to gain a feel of your culture, history and long-term plans. Afterwards, senior line managers have the opportunity to network with graduates in a more informal, relaxed environment over wine and nibbles, and have a more informal chat.
Shortlisting
A shortlist is then drawn up of those graduates who appear, at this stage in the process, to be the most appropriate fit with your company’s team, culture and aspirations.
Group Assessment Day
After preliminary shortlisting, selected graduates are invited back for an assessment day when they are asked to undertake a series of psychometric tests. These are usually followed by a role play or other activity for graduates, involving potential participation by senior line managers, and this provides you with a further opportunity to see, first hand, the talent available to your business if you would like.
Final Shortlisting and Interview
A final shortlist is then drawn up of approximately five candidates who are then invited to be interviewed at your premises when you will have the opportunity to assess their suitability and fit at the final interview stage.
In-house training for ‘A’ level students
As the market changes, we are also finding high quality ‘A’ level students for clients who are increasingly developing in-house training programmes. These give ‘A’ level students on-the-job experience and training towards professional qualifications, often faster than graduates and without incurring student debt.
Best First Impression
Whether you are seeking ‘A’ level or graduate recruits, every advert you place and every interview you conduct will convey a message about your company to the student market place.
Our expertise will ensure you make the best first impression!
By applying unique HR solutions, we are also able to link your recruitment process seamlessly into a unique, performance-focussed graduate and student training programme which meets the specific needs of your business.
