Job Satisfaction

We are sure you will have heard the story about the man who spent his life working up the corporate ladder only to find that it was standing up against the wrong wall!

So what can you do to address a lack of job satisfaction?

You might be in the right career but need to change the way you work. Inspired workers enjoy having their views heard, feeling well-informed, and working for a manager who is dedicated to their organisation.

If this is not how your work environment operates, you may need to take a greater degree of control. Ask your line manager for clear goals so you can achieve positive, satisfying results and build in your own rewards if you lack recognition.

If you really can’t stomach your job, it may be time to ask yourself some key questions:

Does your job fit your personality? Do you like deadlines or prefer longer-term projects? Do you like to work alone or are you a good team player?

Is your job in line with your values? Does your work meet your priorities in terms of family commitments, interests and passions?

Are you using skills you like? Remember never to assess yourself based on the skills you have, but rather identify the skills you have which you like using.

You can have your personality and skills assessed to identify the best role for you.
